How Can We Contribute Stock?

If you have a desire to contribute stock, bonds, or mutual funds to our church, we now have an easy way to make that happen. We have opened a brokerage account with Morgan Stanley to assist us in handling these transactions at low cost. There are some unique advantages to this type of giving from […]

Friends: Embrace the Christmas Season!

All who align with the title “Friends,” historically called “Retired Citizens,” “Senior Adults,” or “Primetimers,” are invited to enjoy Christmas in Guthrie. This will be an evening of fellowship, food, Christmas music, and the beautiful lights and Christmas decorations in Oklahoma’s first territorial capitol. We will be riding together in the church buses, leaving at 4:00 p.m.

Pray for Our College Students

Finals’ week is just around the corner, and this year we will be sending encouraging notes and gift cards to our college students, to give them a little boost amidst all of the pressure. Our goal is not only to encourage them, but to build connections back to Metropolitan when they are home or visiting. Below are the names of our collegiates.

Going Forward in Faith

We praise the Lord for the overwhelming, excellent results of our vote this past Sunday for our future building project. We believe this is positive proof of the Lord’s will for the ongoing ministry and outreach of our church. Thank you to each of you for your tremendous support for the project. We have prayed […]

Decision Time

This coming Lord’s Day we will take time for a congregational vote on whether to approve a building plan that is being proposed by your church leaders. Your elders, deacons, and pastors have been prayerfully engaged in strategic planning for a long time. In doing this we are following the advice of scripture which says, […]

Friends Outing: Christmas in Guthrie

A happy Christmas outing for all senior adults (55+) is planned for Thursday, December 11. We will take buses to Guthrie to enjoy the beautiful atmosphere in Oklahoma’s historic “first Capitol.” Come with us to see the Christmas lights and to enjoy a delicious barbeque supper at Stables Restaurant in Guthrie. We will meet at […]

Library Newly Renovated

Metropolitan’s newly-renovated library and visitor center is now open for business! The Deacon Board has been working on this renovation since last March. We hope the end result will justify any inconvenience you suffered in the process. Please stop by and see if you agree. A beautiful welcome area invites friends who are new to […]

Antone Sisters to Sing

Kathy and Karen Antone, daughters of the Rev. Ken Antone of our church, will sing and share about their work in our 8:30 a.m. service Sunday, November 23. They serve the Lord in full-time ministry to Native American women, throughout the Southwestern United States. Recently they have participated in conferences, evangelism, and radio ministry in […]

Dodge Ball Tournament

All Middle School and High School students are invited for a winner-take-all Dodgeball competition. (And by all, we mean bragging rights!) Our High School students won our first competition of the year when we played Flag Football. It’s time to see if the Middle School students can tie up the yearly competition and “dodge” going […]

Wanted: MBC College Students

The Young Adult Committee would like to update our list of MBC’s current students in college. If you could forward your student’s name, email, and mailing address to me, I sure would appreciate it. We want to be able to encourage all of them during this important time of their lives, and especially as they […]
