Why Attend Metropolitan?

When people are asked, “Why are you attending this congregation rather than some other congregation in this community?” most of the responses can be placed in four categories. “Walk in” – the location of the church campus, the sign on the corner, or denominational loyalty influenced the choice (5-10%). The pastor – accounts for 15-20%, no more than that, according to researcher Lyle Schaller.

In June of 2005, I arrived to join the staff of Metropolitan Baptist Church as Middle School Director. Shortly thereafter, I assumed the role of Pastor of Student Ministries. In the last nine and a half years I’ve met some incredible people.

Excellent Fall Retreat!

Concert of Prayer – Sunday Evening – 6:00 p.m.

Tozer, “we must first determine to find Him, and then proceed in the way of simplicity.” The way of simplicity is the way of childlike trust, guileless faith. At this strategic time in the life of our congregation, we want to look to our Heavenly Father in simple faith, asking Him to guide us as we move forward in faith together.

Music Minister Search Continues

We are proceeding consistently and carefully with our search for a music minister. I appreciate the help of four of our elders, Johnny Hughes and Earl Cheek, who attend the contemporary service, and Robert Black and Ken Bradford, who attend the traditional service. These men are advising and assisting as a very competent search committee.
