Faith Promise Organizations

Our Faith Promise Missions Fund directly supports missionaries as well as world-wide and local mission organizations in their work of spreading the gospel. Four of these organizations are featured below. The Evangelical Theological Seminary (STEP) in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, is one of the oldest schools in the Caribbean.

Movies at the Met – April 4

“Imitation of Life” is our next Movies at the Met on Friday, April 4, at 7:00 p.m. in FLC 130. The film tells the story of a struggling actress with a six-year-old daughter who sets up housekeeping with a homeless black widow and her light-skinned daughter.

Is Middle School As Crazy As It Looks?

I feel so blessed to be at an incredible church working with an age group that I truly love, which happens to be middle school students. Almost every week, though, I have someone from either inside the church or friends outside that say something like: “Man, those middle school kids are crazy! Former NFL Quarterback to Speak

Dr. David Klingler became one of the most prolific passers in NCAA history while he was quarterback at the University of Houston. In 1990 he was nominated for the Heisman Trophy after a season where he set a touchdown pass record which stood for 16 years.

Thinking in the Future Tense

In the annual church congregational meeting I shared a statement about strategic planning work in which our church boards have been engaged for the past two years. People have expressed affirmation and approval for these ideas in comments to me. What I have been hearing from many members is that it is important for our leaders to be thinking and planning for the future of the church.

Surprising Stories from Two MBC Members

MBC “Friends” Group had a special treat this week as 21 of us traveled to tour the Tulsa Air and Space Museum. Pastor Paul Purifoy arranges wonderful programs for our group, but this was especially exciting and informative. Besides viewing all of the aerospace history in the museum, we had a special treat to see how two of our members and family contributed to our successful completion of WW2 and beyond.

Musical Guests This Sunday

On Sunday, March 23, Mike and Sharon Rader will speak in the Firm Foundations Class on “How to Raise Godly Kids.” In addition, their twin sons, Drew and Connelly, will be singing in our 8:30 a.m. service and at the Firm Foundations dinner at the Purifoys’ home that evening. Both of these young men are seniors at Elk City High School.

Volunteers Needed for Anna's House

A few years ago several members of our church became involved with The Anna’s House Foundation. The foundation is a faith-based organization whose mission is to provide immediate, stable and loving foster homes for Oklahoma County’s children, primarily 0-6 in age. They seek to recruit and train families throughout the Church in Oklahoma to help in this endeavor.
